Wanna buy a new PC
I can play ET, but I'm no computer wizz.
I wanna buy myself a new pc.
There's a supermarket in holland (Aldi) that sells computers once in a while, they have very good quality and are cheap, I've got experience with a different pc from that store so I know it's quality.
What I wanna know;
- Is this a decent pc (doubting about the videocard)
- Can I play ET on full with these specs
- Can I play other/newer games with this pc
- Anything that's usefull to know
Specs:
• Intel Core 2 Quad Q 8300
• 2.5 Ghz, 4 MB Cache
• Nvidia Geforce GT220 DirectX 10, 1024 MB
• 4 GB ddr2 RAM, 640 GB Harddisk
• Wlan 802.11 b/g/n till 300 mbit/s bruto
• DVD-/CD-brander
Front entry's:
- 1x flash cardreader
- 2x USB 2.0
- 1x Microphone
- 1x Headphone
- 1x eSata (??)
Behind entry's:
- 4x USB 2.0
- 2x PS/2
- 1x Firewall
- 1x VGA
- 1x DVI-I
- 1x HDMI
- 1x Gigabit LAN network controller
- 1x Microphone
- 1x Line in
- 8 channel audio output.
Software:
- Windows Vista Home Premium Sp1 32 and 64 bit
- Windows 7 upgrade
- Miscosoft Works 9
- Microsoft office Home
- BullGuard internet security package (90 days)
- Suite with home office
- Corel draw and painter essentials 4.
Price: 499,00 Euro's.

Re: Wanna buy a new PC
Graphics card isn't too good for the price you're paying, it's fine for ET but if you wanna run newish games at a nice resolution with nice settings then you'll need something better, I'd reccomend at the least a 3870 if you prefer ATI or 8800GTS/9600GT or so if you prefer Nvidia.

Re: Wanna buy a new PC
Well, looks good but remember: Aldi is no brand, it can has very good parts at their own but is it good combined together? There are no professionals who built it. + They won't have a good support I think.
My suggestion:
Better spend some more money (around 700€-800€) and buy from a serious PC-store like Saturn etc. from Acer, HP, Fujitsu Siemens and so on and be sure you'll have support ans the system is built by qualified people.
Have fun!

Your graphical card is very neat for the electricity bill, but not for gaming
I would suggest going to the dell website and check out their computers.
It is very risky to buy from a supermarket and i don't trust cheap computers

Re: Wanna buy a new PC
The Computer is fabricated by Medion.
It is a known computer producer.
http://www.aldi.nl/OFFER_NL_MI/OFFER_41/OFF01.SHTML
(dutch)
http://www.medion.com/ms/aldi/md8335/nl/
(dutch)
The supermarket just buys them and sells them for a nice price, after a week the offer is gone and then u can buy them from Medion themselves (I checked a website) for alot more, with close to the same stats.
My dad has bought 2 or 3 pc's like this so far, and he does check very carefully what he gets for his money, but he hasn't complained about them often so far. It'll be a computer that'll get along for 2 to 3 years.
About the videocard, too bad for oncomming games that require alot, but my main concern is just being able to play ET at this moment and be abel to download, which, it think, will do just fine
Is it possible to build in a new videocard later on?
Thanks for the reply's

solid price for that kind of pc, kinda getting good quad core processor with a nice graf inside, so it should run without probs any newest games including et.
e: pc is worth of money, tho i would go after some time to sell this card and buy newest of nvidia which u could get for some solid price with selling this one u would get in pc.

Why don't you download games from internet? If you buy games, you are stupid. Game prices aren't really fair for the customers, yo' know?
