defragment Empty defragment

Post by asian Tue Oct 27, 2009 5:35 pm

Ok, i have NEVR defragmented my harddrive yet, and this comp is about 6 years old.
So i analyzed it and it said i should do it.

but from what i hear, it will erase the stuff i have on my computer.
I cant move it to cd because cd burner is broken, and i cant save it on another harddrive because i am broke.

so only solution seems to be to backup my file, but i dont know how, and i dont know how to retrieve it after i defragment,

so how do i do it?

nah deframent just place files where they belong, delite damaged files and sort files like they should be. I did it many times and never delited smth, so there shouldnt be any probs with files.

No you will not have to back up anything.

As above, where you will need to back up your files for is called formatting.

defragmenting is like compressing your files, and removes damaged files

What program do you use for your defragmentation?

If you guys want a cool program not only for defrag but also for tweaking windows I suggest

TuneUp Utilities 2009

Windows defragger isn't as good as they want you to believe.

The one from tuneup is great.
