Why to install linux? u might ask...

for the ones who dont know, Linux is an operating system(free), something like windows guys, but it has a lot of differences, the ones i would like to say :

So far i could NOT install following programs in linux:
1.Ventrilo ( I heard of ways but i could not do it)
2.Et-Minimizer
some disadvantages and difficulties:
1. Linux is pretty fuken hard if u dont know a shit of programming+basic commands
2.Linux is hard if u dont have a person to help u , with experience with it(this wont happen cuz i am here to help)
3.You WILL get a lot of problems the first time u try anythign in linux, lets say playign games, downlaod music, send pictures.
4.I will def not recommend linux as a main operating system, cuz u need to search a lot of drivers to make things be compatible.
BUT THIS IS WHY I MAKE THIS TUTO, the point of this is:

when u turn ur computer, you get this black screen to choose which Operating system u wanna use:
Windows xp
Ubuntu 8.10

so u just choose what u want and have fun.
YOU WILL NOT LOOSE ANY FILE, OR ANYTHING IN YOUR WINDOWS BY DOING THIS, YOU CAN TRY LINUX WITHOUT UNINSTALLING WINDOWS, WITHOUT LOOSING ANYTHING, AND IF U DONT LIKE IT, U CAN LEAVE IT THERE AND NEVER USE IT , oR SIMPLY GO TO WINDOWS AND UNNINSTALL IT LIKE IT WAS A PROGRAM-

So here is the tuto

1. First: go to : http://wubi-installer.org/ and download ...it.
This programs makes this:
-Download Ubuntu 8.10
-Make a partition of ur harddrive to install Linux on it(u can select the size of partition, i recommend 15 gb)
-Dual boot(what i explained above, choose windows or linux at start when u turn comp on)

So well after u install wubi, select language, selec Ubuntu (NOT kubuntu or edubuntu), choose ur user name, and fuken type it in a piece of paper , same with ur password, cuz if u forget it ur fuked, (happened to me..) , and the hit install, this will start a download of ubuntu to ur computer, give it arround 1 hour, depends of ur download speed. Its 700 mb or something.
2.When it finishes install, it will ask a reboot, do it. if it doesnt ask but the program is done with download, reboot.
(HERE in the download if u get any error , just hit re-try-re.-try- re try., it will work, dont cancel...)
3.Reboot, choose Ubuntu at start.
4.LET IT BE, IT WILL START DOING SOME MATRIX SHIT, u will see a lot of code falling, , it will make some installs, just be patient ok, u dotn wanna fuck the download.., it will take about 10 min or less to install, until u see the screen to put ur
USERNAME AND PASS, do it. u will see ubuntu desktop based in compiz- design.
5.U will see a icon in desktop called INSTALL
6.hit INSTALL...and install, if it stucks in the percentage count , just leave it , give it time, it is not stucked....trust me.
7.After its done maybe it asks for reboot ,. maybe not.
8. You have just installed Linux Ubuntu 8.10
You will be able at this point, to use Firefox(internet) it auto detects ur connection dont worry, to install plugins i recommend that u first visit this forum, it will ask u to install some flash plugins, (to watch videos, music players, etc) do it from this forum , i tried form youtube and it didnt work, it worked from this forum. Also on the top right of ur screen it will say THERE ARE 80 OR SOME UPDATES ABALIBLE., DO TAHT B4 naythign else.., is better, it will take about 30 min depending of ur connection speed will eba lot faster, mine sucks.

after that u maybe get a pop-up on ur top right screen saying that there is hardware something to install, click it (IF u dont get the pop-up go to System , administration, Hardware and ENABLE the NVIDIA RECOMMENDED there., then i think it needs reboot.
ok after its enabled, and ur UPDATES are over, u reboot ok.

ur ubuntu is working good now, now lets install et.

To install ET:

first posts explains EXACTLY what u need to do to install et.
I will just say thet to OPEN A TERMINAL go to top left aplications, accesories -> terminal.
and there type what they tell u to type in that tuto which is great.

After u do what the tuto says u should be runnign et in linux, if u wanna install teamspeak just go to teamspeak.com and download teh LINUX CLIENT.
to install xfire, u need will need personal help, so just add me to xfire : felipem87 and tell me if ur ready to try linux and wanna install xfire, cuz i need some info about ur system (cannot make a tuto cuz depends of each system). So if u decide to try it, i am able to help anytime, get in Pro* teamspeak or add me to xfire and i help u out., good luck hope it was interesting for u Razz.
and dont be scared to try linux, u can do some ncie shit with it: check youtube.com type linux+beryl or linux+compiz-fusion
